Game One: Brandon

The Holly freshman football team lost a hard-fought game to Brandon by a score of 32-14.   The game was much closer than the score indicates, as the Bronchos were within two points with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter.  However, a turnover on downs deep in Broncho territory led to a late score that solidified the win for the Blackhawks.  Pat O’Connor and Shawn Scott were the leading rushers for the Bronchos.  O’Connor played an excellent game on defense as well in leading the team in tackles.   

The freshmen will look to even up their record next week as they host Lapeer East. 

Game Two: Lapeer East

The Holly freshman football team came out strong on Thursday and defeated Lapeer East by a score of 16 - 0.  The defense played an outstanding game in shutting down the East passing game.  Defensive backs Joe Thomas, Nick Stoll, Jared Plawski, Ryan Houldsworth, Shawn Scott, and Pat O'Connor limited East to just two completed passes on the night.  The Bronchos will look to continue their winning ways next week at Swartz Creek.

Game Three: Swartz Creek

The freshman football team continued its winning ways in a strong 36-6 victory over Swartz Creek.  The offensive line of Lance Millis, Louis Morris, Aaron Kizer, David McNeely, and Nick Lindsey played on outstanding game in helping the Bronchos move the ball up and down the field.  The defense had another outstanding game as well.  It was a total team effort, as every player made significant contributions on the field.  The Bronchos, now 2 and 1 on the year, will take to the road again next week as they travel to Linden.

Game Four: Linden

The Broncho freshman team stretched its win streak to three with a victory over a tough Linden team.  With the score 16-16 at the half, the Bronchos recovered the ball and momentum with a successful onside kick to start the second half.  Linebackers Joel Schuermann and David McNeely led the Broncho defense, while Pat O'Connor led the rushing attack.  The Bronchos will host the rival Fenton Tigers next Thursday at 4:15.

Game Five: Fenton

The Holly freshman continued to roll with a 36-19 win over the rival Fenton Tigers.  The offensive line of Nick Lindsey, David McNeely, Aaron Kizer, Louis Morris, and Lance Millis allowed the Bronchos to move the effectively throughout the game.  On defense, Pat O'Connor and Nick Vanlanduyt had outstanding games.  The freshman, now 4 and 1 on the season, host Clio next week.  

Game Six: Clio

The Bronchos played a nearly-flawless game on Thursday in defeating Clio 48-0.  The Broncho defense, led by David McNeely, held the Mustangs to just three first downs.  On offense, Pat O'Connor had a huge day running behind excellent blocking from the offensive line.  Everyone saw considerable playing time in this total team effort.

Game Seven: Flint Kearsley

The freshman lost a hard-fought battle to an undefeated Kearsley team on Thursday.  Both teams played a physical game, but, in the end, Kearsley prevailed by a score of 22-20.

Game Eight: Lapeer West

The Holly freshman improved to 6 and 2 with a convincing 28-6 victory over Lapeer West.  The Broncho defense, led by David McNeely, Joel Schuermann, Shawn Scott, Pat O'Connor, Ryan Houldsworth, and Nick Vanlanduyt, limited West to just 90 yards of offense.  On the other side of the ball, Holly kept the chains moving with a strong running game for four quarters.
